Let’s talk about the new age of members-only clubs.

ZZ’s Club, Zero Bond, Casa Cipriani—these are just a handful of the many private clubs cropping up in New York City, as old classics like Soho House continue to spread across the country. Even before many offices turned the lights back on post-lockdown, these secondary spaces offered some workers a much-needed opportunity to socialize, to continue making connections, and to not go insane working from home.

Although exclusive, these clubs are representative of a much larger post-pandemic movement—office workers don’t want to be chained to one place (much less one desk). They want to be able to seamlessly move between different environments, experiences, and networks based on…how they feel (imagine that!). Apps like Flow (more below) are taking this trend a step further to allow people to feel like “members” across an entire city.

Could the growth of these secondary spaces mean an even quicker end to the traditional office — or will they altogether replace the office as we know it?

Feel free to respond, would love to hear your thoughts!
