Let’s talk about MedTail. AKA Medical Retail.
Even when its usefulness became obvious during the pandemic, MedTail has carried a stigma for landlords and developers. These tenants are often high-credit, sign long-term leases, and bring customers by at odd hours to bolster retail centers. It also became clear over the past two years that people like to have medical help very close to where they live.
Even so, the fear of sterile, white reception areas in storefronts and WordArt signage has left landlords pushing MedTail to the backs of shopping centers or disregarding it completely. Could design-forward brands like Tend, Forward, or OneMedical flip the script?
