Let's talk about the "liquidity" of real estate.

Sounds like an oxymoron, right? As long as the concept of real estate development has been around, it has gone without saying that investing in RE is time, capital, and material intensive.

However, with blockchain platforms becoming so normalized and tokenization expanding to almost every industry, it's interesting to consider how that may apply to real estate. Just as stocks can be sliced, so can pieces of RE equity. Author and cities expert Dror Poleg recently explored this subject and the possible fallout. An ability to fluidly invest and divest from built projects could allow tremendous new funding opportunities, and may also allow more laypeople to get a piece of the very, very big pie.
