Let's talk about how the media covers the built environment.
We’ve all read what’s out there: The Real Deal and Crain’s for real estate transactions, Architect’s Newspaper and Dezeen for design, maybe a nice column here and there devoted to a proptech startup.
It seems like a 21st century platform that brings these all together doesn’t exist. In reality, the lines continue to blur with a fury between commercial real estate, architecture, and tech; cities are creating digital twins, architects are demanding an equity stake in assets, developers are designing around proptech innovations. Where is the media giant to capture this shifting landscape?
In-person events have caught up. Conferences like Blueprint (see below), WRLDCTY, and Mipim are bringing all of these industries to the table. So are networks like Brick & Wonder.
Tiktok is also getting there.
Have you seen any great platforms or writers that capture the blurred lines? Feel free to respond, would love to check them out!
